Could this Voice contestant ring in a new generation of The Partridge Family? 18-year-old Jack Cassidy ignited the stage of The Voice with an impassioned performance of Joan Osborne’s 1995 hit, “One of Us”.

With his famous family watching eagerly backstage, Jack poured emotion into his delivery of the song while simultaneously showing off his keyboard skills. The talented vocalist earned two chairs turns from coaches Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. Known for moving performances taking place at a piano, Keys jumped with joy upon turning when she saw the singer sitting at a keyboard.

“I come from a very musical family, The Cassidy family, also known as the Partridge Family from the famous TV show,” the grandson of iconic Broadway star Patrick Cassidy shared proudly with the judges.

Immediately taking notice to performing similarities between Keys and the contestant, Blake Shelton jumped at the opportunity to take a shot at Levine, explaining he had “a vision” of the two performing a piano duet with one another similar to how Elton John and Billy Joel famously have.

“Thanks Blake I appreciate that love,” says Keys following Shelton’s glowing recommendation. “This is my first time seeing someone choose to play only the piano, just you. Which is obviously totally my heart. There is nothing like being able to play the piano and play what you feel.”

Levine took one last shot for the contestant, explaining he feels they grew up listening to the same kinds of music and that shouldn’t be ignored. However, in the end, Jack could only choose one. After much consideration, he chose to join the ranks of Team Alicia.
