During an interview with Billboard, Miranda Lambert revealed the news that many of her fans have been waiting for. After a multiple-year hiatus, Lambert said her supergroup the Pistol Annies are planning to release a new album in 2018!

This news thrilled Lambert’s fans, because the Pistol Annies haven’t released an album since 2013’s Annie Up. The group has reunited for a few live performances since then, but that’s it.

Featuring Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley, the Pistol Annies released their debut record Hell on Heels in 2011. The album topped the Billboard country albums chart, while its successor, Annie Up, reached the second spot.

But the release of the Hell on Heels album wasn’t the event that marked the Pistol Annies’ entrance into the country music community. They made their big debut months prior during the ACM’s Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country special, and they did so in style.

Since the Pistol Annies had never performed live before, no one knew what to expect when Lambert invited her two friends to join her out on stage. It only took a matter of seconds before everyone realized that the Pistol Annies had the potential to be the next big thing in country music.

The group chose to sing their debut single that night, the fiery “Hell on Heels.” Filled with spunk and sass, each girl took turns singing about men they’ve left brokenhearted after taking advantage of their money and wealth.

Lambert, Monroe, and Presley each delivered their lines with a fierce sense of confidence. Their complete commitment to the song’s story and theme is the main factor that helped push their performance over the edge.

Additionally, the way the Pistol Annies harmonized with each other resulted in a jaw-dropping sound. At the time of this performance it was a whole new experience to listen to their combined voices. Now, we know just how well the three of them are able to blend their voices together in order to create a one-of-a-kind sound.

We’d say that the Pistol Annies’ debut was effective, since we’re still talking about it after all of these years! Check out the performance that started it all for them in the clip below!

Who else is excited to hear more music from these talented ladies? We sure can’t wait!
