Randy Houser Brings His Powerful Vocals To An Iconic Lynyrd Skynyrd Song

If only one word could be used to described Randy Houser‘s voice, it would have to be “powerful.” Anyone who’s heard Houser perform one of his hits such as “Like a Cowboy” knows he can really belt when he sings.

Houser often puts those powerhouse vocals on display through a cover of a Southern rock classic. That classic is none other than “Simple Man,” which is one of the most well-known songs by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd.

We’ve heard many artists offer their takes on “Simple Man.” These covers range from emotional acoustic performances to insanely soulful renditions.

Houser’s cover doesn’t fall into either of those boxes. Once again, if we had to use just one word, “powerful” would fit in this circumstance as well.

Houser’s Version Of “Simple Man” Is Something You Have To Hear To Believe

Houser exhibits great power throughout his cover of the song, even during its softer moments. But he allows his voice to explode every time he reaches the chorus. He gives the song everything he’s got and then some, proving how dedicated he is to his craft.

We’ve watched Houser sing “Simple Man” a few times in the past. He once delivered an impressive version with fellow country star and vocal powerhouse Drake White.

But we have another performance to share with y’all in the video below.

This particular performance took place during Houser’s set at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth in March 2017. The crowd was loving every minute of it, and we’re sure you will too.

Go ahead and watch Houser’s raw talent shine in his cover of “Simple Man” below. He blew the roof off that place, that’s for sure!
