Roy Acuff, Hank Williams, and the Carter Family came together to perform the classic song “Glory Bound Train” in 1952.

Hank Williams held Roy Acuff in the highest regard.

Having only the highest of remarks to say, Hank Williams was once asked about the legendary Roy Acuff in an interview, confidently saying, “For drawing power in the South, it was Roy Acuff, then God.”

Being hailed The King Of Country Music,” Acuff is credited with the success of the country music genre, gearing its recognizable sound and format. In addition to his vast success as a musician, Acuff later became the first living inductee to the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

While Acuff sadly passed away in 1992 at the age of 89, a rare piece of footage has resurfaced to viewers, giving us all a taste of the classic country sound that Acuff and various performers lived by!

Alongside the talented Carter Family and legendary Hank Williams, Acuff is seen feeling the beat and happily singing the song “Glory Bound Train” with his country comrades. Seeing that the footage was originally captured in 1952, a whopping 71 years ago, the quality is nowhere near comparison to the clear images we are acclimated to enjoying. We have seen footage of this same group performing “I Saw The Light” many times over the years, but never this “Glory Bound Train.”
