For Reba McEntire, an ordinary task quickly turned into a painful experience.
In a series of videos posted to her Instagram in 2015, McEntire shared that while ringing out a rag to wipe down the kitchen counter, she felt something sting her.

Just a little something happened to me today I wanted to share with you guys. Happy Saturday!
Luckily for McEntire, she knew just the solution to make the pain go away.
“I ran outside where the painters were painting the house and I asked them for a cigarette and I went back in and I made a poultice for it, and I put it on my finger and it helped,” she said.
But where in the world did McEntire learn that tobacco was a good cure for stings?
“You get some tobacco and put some water on it and put it on a sting and it helps a lot. I learned that from my grandpap,” McEntire said, smiling fondly.
It seems that McEntire’s grandpap had the right advice, since she said that her finger didn’t hurt as bad as it did before.
What do you think? Are you going to try “grandpap’s” cure the next time you get stung?
