24-year-old rising singer Drew Baldridge is setting out to be country music’s next big thing. With his new EP Dirt On Us out, he’s on track to do just that.

Dirt On Us is an album that he’s taken a few years to produce, wanting to release the perfect project. He’d travel to Florida for days at a time to write, and while on a 48-state radio tour, he added more songs, took some out of the running, and compiled 13 songs he was confident in for his debut album.

One of those songs, which he released to country radio in October 2016, is a tune by the name of “Rebound”, which features vocals from Emily Weisband.

Inspired by a breakup Baldridge experienced, “Rebound” is about a man who refuses to play second fiddle to a woman who is not yet over her ex. It seems every time things are rocky in her relationship, she comes running to him, and he has finally had enough.

“I can still feel the sting of that breakup. I think everybody’s been there,” Baldridge explained in a press release. “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.”

Baldridge sings about a situation that almost everyone can relate to, which is why it has resonated with millions of people. You may or may not stop the temptation the way he does, but it will inspire you to.

Drew Baldridge recently announced on social media that “Rebound” has been streamed on Spotify 15 million times, which is no easy feat.
