Remember When Trace & Blake Tore Up The ACM Awards With An Epic Performance Of ‘Hillbilly Bone’?

entertainmentnews21

Thanks to Trace Adkins and Blake Shelton, we’ve learned that every person has a little bit of hillbilly in them. Their 2009 hit “Hillbilly Bone” explains how it’s impossible to resist your inner hillbilly, even if you’re from the big city.

As longtime friends, the decision to have Adkins and Shelton collaborate on “Hillbilly Bone” was a genius one. They fed off of one another’s energy to produce an upbeat, fun-lovin’ tune that people still crank up whenever it comes on the radio.

If just listening to Adkins and Shelton sing “Hillbilly Bone” is entertaining to you, then you need to see them perform it together. They’ve done so a handful of times, including the one time Adkins surprised a packed Opry house by showing up in the middle of Shelton’s performance there.

Adkins and Shelton were nominated for Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year at the 2010 ACM Awards for “Hillbilly Bone.” They ended up taking home the award for the latter, so it only made perfect sense for the two superstars to bring their hit duet to the ACM stage!

That ACM performance is hands down, one of the best we’ve seen between Adkins and Shelton. Adkins’ involvement in the performance was kept a secret from the crowd, since Shelton was the only one announced as a performer.

So imagine everyone’s surprise when Adkins burst out on stage! The duo delivered a high-energy performance as always, stealing the show in the process.

You can watch the unforgettable performance in the clip below! Shelton starts singing around the two minute mark.

If you got a kick out of “Hillbilly Bone,” then you’ll love Adkins’ latest single “Lit.” The song captures Adkins’ signature sense of power and country boy pride, so honestly, what’s not to love?

Give “Lit” a listen by tuning in to the song’s official music video below. Once you’re done with that, download the song on iTunes so you can listen to it whenever you want!
