Rory Feek Takes Daughter Indy To Exact Spot He And Joey Normally Spend New Years

After losing someone you love, the holidays are an extremely tough time to get through. Holidays are all about being with family and the people you love, but when a huge piece of your family is missing, it is truly heartbreaking.

This holiday season is the first since Joey Feek passed away and her husband, Rory, is doing everything he can to keep her spirit alive. For Christmas, he and their daughter Indy went to her gravesite and spent some quality time with the woman they miss so much.

Like any family, the Feek family also has New Years traditions that Rory wanted to keep alive. Every year, Joey and Rory would head to the ocean and ring in the new year with an incredible view and even better company – each other.

This year, although Joey is gone, a piece of her is still on Earth, so he took little Indy to the beach and dressed her in a cute blue and pink bathing suit decked out with whales. 

“Ringing in the New Year at the beach with the baby, the way her mama and I used to do,” Rory captioned the sweet photo.

Our continued prayers go out to the Feek family. The holiday season without a mother, wife, friend, or loved one is never the same, but we’re sure Joey is smiling down on her family and loving everything Rory is doing to keep her memory alive.
