Whenever you ask someone to name their favorite Trace Adkins songs, chances are they’ll eventually end up naming his 2005 single “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” in the list. The song was a pop crossover hit for Adkins, and it also claimed the second spot on the Billboard country charts.
You can hear country fans young and old singing to Adkins’ hit song any time it comes on the radio.
One young country girl who’s a big fan of Adkins’ music is none other than Duck Dynasty‘s Sadie Robertson.
In February 2016, Adkins was preparing to perform at the Movieguide Awards when Robertson stopped by to say hello. She was serving as one of the show’s hosts, and was simply making her rounds to check out everything that was going on.
While Adkins took a break, Robertson stepped up to the microphone and couldn’t help but break out into “Badonkadonk.” Robertson swayed her hips back and forth as she sang, trying to mimic Adkins’ signature baritone voice.
Adkins’ reaction to Robertson singing his song was priceless. He stepped up and moved the microphone away from Robertson, as she stared at him with a look of pure disappointment on her face.
“That’s my job,” Adkins said, before Robertson admitted that her whole performance was kind of embarrassing.
“It was a little embarrassing,” Adkins said in agreement, before they both shared a good laugh over the whole ordeal.
