Straight from the mid-2000s, this song was never actually released as a single from their record, but has been a fan-favorite ever since!

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are two of the foremost Southern-rock-infused country stars to ever hit the stage and their seemingly endless string of unforgettable hit songs is only a testament to that. Taking to the recording studio for their fifth album, the boys of Montgomery Gentry laid down a full-length record that was brimming with iconic music.

One of these understated, yet incredible songs was the twelfth and final track, “Free Ride in the Fast Lane” – a track that speaks to their values of hard work, enjoying the time you have, and overcoming rough parts of life.

Penned by a trio of songwriters that have worked with Montgomery Gentry many times before, “Free Ride in the Fast Lane” incorporates impressive piano riffs into this upbeat and thundering anthem.

If you’ve ever listened to Eddie and Troy’s Some People Change all the way through, you’ll remember this as the killer final track – and if you haven’t then you definitely just found a new favorite!
