Siblings Stun Texas Church With Breathtaking Gospel Medley

In the entire history of music, only a few songs have ever earned the right to be called “timeless.” Two of those songs are “I’ll Fly Away” and “I Saw the Light,” which both have great importance to country music fans. 

“I’ll Fly Away” is a hymn that was written in 1929 by American composer Albert E. Brumley. It is one of the most popular gospel songs in history, and has been recorded by artists of all genres. Bluegrass singers are particularly fond of the song, which is how it ended up becoming beloved by country fans as well.

As for “I Saw the Light,” it actually started out as a country song and later became more of a gospel standard. The song was written and originally recorded by Hank Williams, who surprisingly didn’t experience much success with it. But the song later went on to become known as one of his signatures, and has since been covered numerous times.

One group that covers both of the above mentioned songs is the sibling trio Daves Highway. The group is made up of the Daves siblings: Delaney (22), Zachary (21), and Erika (19). From Brandon, Missouri, these three talented siblings taught themselves how to sing and play their respective instruments.

Ever since Daves Highway formed in 2007, the group has travelled across the country to share their music with others. When the siblings were much younger, they all performed at a church in Texas and brought along two country gospel classics. You guessed it…they sang “I’ll Fly Away” and “I Saw the Light.”

The trio opened with “I’ll Fly Away,” and encouraged everyone in the crowd to sing along. But we’re sure everyone held off on singing for a while because they were too amazed by the siblings’ beautiful harmonies.

With the crowd clapping along the entire time, Daves Highway moved into singing “I Saw the Light,” and the beauty of their harmonies only increased from that point. Just wait until they reach the end of the song…talk about goosebumps!
