Sin City Hits The Jackpot With Aaron Lewis’ Profound Performance Of ‘Stuck In These Shoes’

Out of all country artists, Aaron Lewis certainly has one of the busiest touring schedules. It seems like the “That Ain’t Country” singer is always on the road, performing everywhere from radio stations to amphitheaters. 

Lewis also gets to perform in a casino from time to time, and what place is better known for its casinos than Las Vegas? In 2015, Lewis stopped by Sin City for a performance at the famous Golden Nugget casino and made everyone who attended feel like they had just hit the jackpot.

The people that gathered to watch Lewis perform that day were treated to a whole bunch of new songs, including one titled “Stuck in These Shoes.” When Lewis released his album Sinner the following year. “Stuck in These Shoes” was one of the songs that made the final cut, appearing as the ninth track on the album.

Written entirely by Lewis, “Stuck in These Shoes” captures the way the narrator views himself as a person. He has made some mistakes and isn’t exactly pleased about them, but knows that he is sort of stuck in his ways. As he sings:

“I got nothin’ to lose. I’ve played the fool, I broke all of the rules, and I have to choose. ‘Cause I’m stuck in these shoes.”

As he often does, Lewis opted to take the all-acoustic approach when he performed “Stuck in These Shoes” at the Golden Nugget. The arrangement gave the whole performance an intimate feeling, adding further to the personal nature of the song.
