The Voice coaches were in for the surprise of a lifetime when sisters Whitney and Shannon took the stage for their blind audition.
23-year-old Shannon sang the opening lyrics and all the judges were instantly impressed. Her older sister, Whitney, came in second, while the judges still had no clue there were two women standing behind them.
When they sang their first harmony together, all four coaches looked confused. They looked around and confirmed they were all hearing the same thing – two voices.
Whitney and Shannon’s harmony won over Adam, Blake, Miley, and Alicia very quickly. Their incredible performance came to an end and it was time for the coaches to try to win them over.
“You can’t teach something like that,” Adam said of their harmony. “You are amazing and you blew my mind.”
“It’s that thing that you can only have, I truly believe, with siblings. Being a duo and being successful on this show has only ever happened one time,” Blake said. “And I’m proud to say it was on my team and it was with The Swon Brothers. I want you guys to think about that because nobody works harder, I’d like to say, in the country music industry than me. I would be honored and proud your guys’ coach.”
“The world needs the two of you. We need to see you. You represent the future. It’s a beautiful fusion of all of us. I know that us together would be so powerful,” Alicia said during her pitch.
Miley, who has been known to cover this song in her concerts, revealed that she has a personal connection to the song. It has helped her get through deaths in the family, breakups and heartbreak.
While the video cuts out right before they choose their coach, we definitely think they should pick Team Blake! Who would you choose?
