One wife was given the surprise of a lifetime when a trip to Chik-fil-A transitioned into an emotional reunion with her formerly deployed soldier, Staff Sergeant Chris Reed.

Upon ordering her meal, wife Amy Reed and her family took to a nearby booth to wait for their food. However, she was unaware that her husband was in the restaurant, eagerly waiting to serve the table their meals and shock his wife with his early arrival.

A recording was taken directly across from the wife’s seat, showing her in her booth conversing with those around her amidst waiting for their meal. Soon, her husband slowly snuck up behind her seat and casually placed their large trays of food on the table before her. She quickly glanced up, attempting to identify the strange man in uniform, and began to scream! Jumping up, she hugged her soldier in sheer disbelief, sending the restaurant into an uproar of applause and cheers.

The Chik-fil-A establishing had been in cahoots with Staff Sergeant Reed in order to properly orchestrate the surprise. It started off with her just screaming and her shedding tears. Then everyone started shedding tears. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place,” one employee said in an interview referenced by The Huffington Post
