Born in Miami, Florida, Ana Cristina Cash grew up in a house filled with music and culture. As the child of Cuban immigrants, Cash ended up learning both Spanish and English, and was bilingual from a young age.

In addition to her command of languages, Cash also showed incredible skill when it came to singing. She started her professional music career at age six, and was signed to Sony Music’s Latin division while she was still a teenager.

Although Cash was able to build a successful career off of Latin music, it isn’t the only type of music she enjoys. She was exposed to various genres of music throughout her childhood, and shares a strong connection to many of them.

One genre that Cash feels deeply connected to is country. She further cemented that connection when she married famed country music producer John Carter Cash on October 29, 2016.

After years of singing Latin music, Cash is ready to make her country debut. As announced through a press release issued on Tuesday (March 14), Cash has finally released her first country record.

Titled The Tough Love E.P., the record offers fans a taste of what Cash will have to offer on her upcoming full-length album, set for release this summer. Some of the songs were co-written with her husband, and all of the tracks feature a soulful showcase of rockabilly, blues, and country styles.

From the title track “Tough Love Woman” to her breathtaking version of John Anderson‘s “Seminole Wind,” every track on the album means the world to Cash.

This music is true to my heart, an offering from my very soul,” she said in a statement.

You can get a taste of that music by listening to Cash’s recording of “Seminole Wind” below, which was exclusively featured by Country Rebel in February.
