Emmylou Harris & Lauren Alaina Recognize Trisha Yearwood With Duet At ACM Honors

This year’s Academy of Country Music Honors was a night to remember, with several stellar performances from standout artists.
The 2024 ACM Honors were held on August 21 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and the full ceremony aired Tuesday night (September 24). Four-time host Carly Pearce and reigning ACM Song of the Year recipient Jordan Davis hosted the event.

ACM Honors: A Closer Look
Unlike the grand spring ACM Awards, ACM Honors is a more intimate event celebrating special award recipients. A few of these awards include “off-camera category winners, and ACM Industry Awards and Studio Recording Awards.”
Launched in 2007, this year marks the 17th annual celebration.
2024 Honorees
This year’s distinguished group of recipients featured a diverse lineup of music industry talents. The honorees were named as Walt Aldridge, Tony Brown, Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, Shannon Sanders, Lainey Wilson, and Trisha Yearwood.
Yearwood specifically was one of two artists who received the ACM’s prestigious Icon Award. The other Icon honoree this year was Tony Brown.
The ACM Honors, affectionately known as “Country Music’s Favorite Night,” showcased an impressive array of performance celebrating the heart and soul of the genre.
EmmyLou Harris’ Performance
A standout moment of the evening occurred when two-time ACM Award winner Emmylou Harris took the stage to honor Yearwood.
Emmylou Harris has been a singer and songwriter for over four decades. Her amazing work has earned her 14 Grammy awards and even the Billboard Century Award in 1999. And her voice has truly only gotten better with time!
During the ACM Honors celebration, the 77-year-old wowed the audience by joining Lauren Alaina to sing a duet version of Yearwood’s Top 10 hit from 1993, “The Song Remembers When.” The singers delivered a stunning rendition of the tune, proving why they’re both two of the best female vocalists in the business.
Lauren Alaina, Yearwood’s husband, Garth Brooks, and her sister Beth fought back tears throughout the performance.
