An incredible video released Wednesday (September 11) shows rock legend Jon Bon Jovi helping save a woman who was intending to end her life.

According to the WSMV4, Jon Bon Jovi, 62, was in the midst of a photo shoot on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge that spans the Cumberland River when a member of his team noticed a woman on the other side of the railing.

Video released by the Metro Nashville Police Department shows Bon Jovi and a member of his team approach the woman. Jon casually leans against the rail near the troubled woman, seemingly talking to her as his team member carefully takes the woman by the arm.

Eventually, the troubled woman turns around and Bon Jovi and his team member helped her over the bridge railing. The video shows the rocker embracing her before authorities arrived.

A statement from the MNPD hailed Bon Jovi as a hero, saying:

“A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. ‘It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,’ — Chief John Drake.”

Neither Jon Bon Jovi nor his team have spoken publicly about the ordeal.

Jon Bon Jovi is among the latest stars to open a restaurant and bar in Music City.

JBJ’s, now the tallest building on Broadway, opened its doors June 6, 2024. Bon Jovi told WKRN that he has deep country roots due in-part to his collaborations with some of Nashville’s biggest artists, songwriters, and studios.

“These are my people. You know, if you think of Hollywood as the actors’ community, Nashville is the musicians’ community. Seems wherever you go, there’s another great writer, another great player, somebody aspiring to have their own bar on Broadway someday, and I’ve been attracted to that for 35 years now,” Bon Jovi said.
