Is Ireland the new Nashville? Hailing from Cork, Ireland, a man named Ryan Phoenix is, without a doubt, a country star in the making. And he’s not alone either! There are several Irishmen who are giving their home country a great reputation for good country music, take young Keelan in the video below for example.

Wearing a cutoff denim vest, Phoenix played the guitar and sang lead vocals while his buddies accompanied him on bass, percussion, guitar, and harmonies. When the video first begins, the four men jam out to the intro and then a few seconds later, you will be stunned by Phoenix’s voice. He looks young, but his voice is as smooth as whiskey!

Phoenix’s song choice will have you pressing play, but his deep, pure country voice will keep you hooked.

The late Merle Haggard released “Mama Tried” in 1968 as the first single off his album of the same name. Just 14 days before Haggard’s death in 2016, it was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry.

He definitely made Merle proud with this one! Watch his cover of “Mama Tried” below!
