Michigan-native Tegan Marie has always had a passion for country music. When she was just ten years old, she began posting videos of herself singing covers of country music’s most popular songs. Her career really took off in June 2016 when she covered Florida Georgia Line’s hit song “H.O.L.Y.” The video now has almost 18 million views and led her down the path of country music stardom.
She is currently signed to Warner Music Nashville and has played shows with Hunter Hayes, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, and more, according to her Facebook bio. Over the last year and a half, her life has completely changed, going from small town girl with a dream to fulfilling those dreams in Music City.
Now 14 years old, Tegan Marie has shown great improvement from her already stellar talent and her latest cover will likely blow you away. Taking over One Country’s Facebook Live, the young singer revealed she and her band were working up some Christmas music and were currently learning the popular song “Hallelujah,” originally performed by Leonard Cohen.
She started off the live video showing off her spunky personality, but once the music started playing, she transformed into the serious side of her and showed off her wide range of vocals. Fans were loving the performance, each one commenting on the video in real time telling her how much she’s improved, or asking her to never stop singing.
“Oh my goodness gracious girl!! You sound amazing… goosebumps the whole time…. you did wonderful! Great job Teagan [sic] !!!” a fan wrote.
Another fan commended Tegan for her passionate delivery of the lyrics, commenting, “You really bring out the words to this song. I never really heard it until now. So beautiful.”
