The man behind the powerful voice who hypnotized the nation with a jaw-dropping delivery of “Tennessee Whiskey” has returned with another mesmerizing performance. With a little help from his talented son, Kris Jones is back with a tear-jerking performance of his first-ever original song.

Since his cover of George Jones’ “Tennessee Whiskey” went viral back in early January, Jones and his adoring daughter have been featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The talkshow host gave him a chance to showcase his powerful voice for her millions of viewers before handing him a check for $10,000 to help him “further pursue his dream.”

“If this is all it ever does and this is as far as my career goes,” said Jones fighting back tears. “Being on your show makes me feel like I’ve reached the top.”

But as Ellen predicted, this appears to just be the beginning for him who shared he’ll be returning to compete on The Voice who had rejected him in the past. In preparation for making his television appearance, Jones uploaded a video of him and his son performing an original song he shares will be part of an unknown “T.V. Show being filmed.”

As usual, his powerful vocals skillfully delivered the deeply personal lyrics. Jones also revealed fans of his can look forward to downloading the song soon to be made available for purchase on iTunes.
