Texas Woman Flies Through Tornado In Bathtub, But How Did It End?

CBS 9

It doesn’t get any scarier than this! 75-year-old Charlesetta Williams of East Texas is counting her blessings today as a kick of sheer luck and power from above, perhaps, saved her from falling victim to destructive, EF-2 tornado.

Williams sat down with CBS 9 as she relived the frightening experience that almost claimed her life. She spoke, “We heard that… the tornado was coming. We was in the bathtub in the bathroom… We heard this boom, and when we got out we was outside.”

Williams and her son sought refuge in the house’s bathtub, only to be forcefully torn from the structure, eventually landing outside the damaged house with hazy memories and, fortunately, no serious injuries.

Nancy Rogers of the Grey Volunteer Fire Department spoke of the treacherous natural disaster, explaining that this was the first happening of its kind. “These were people’s home this time. Every once in a while you’ll hear maybe somebody’s shop or something got blown away, but these were people’s homes,” she stated.

Rogers revealed that at least 15 homes had been destroyed. She spoke fondly of Williams’ lucky break, saying, “You had the hand of God on top of you, protecting y’all…”
