Although Thomas and Lauren have been friends for most of their lives, it wasn’t necessarily love at first sight. Thomas spent their high school years trying to win Lauren’s heart, but despite his best efforts, the two remained “just friends.”
Eventually, Lauren fell for Thomas as well, and they were married on October 12, 2012. They now share four daughters: Willa, Ada, Lennon, and Lillie.
Thomas Lists Nine Secrets He’s Learned About Romance
Lauren, who often makes trips to Haiti and Africa to care for orphans there, inspires Thomas to be a better man. In a 2016 interview with BLMG, Thomas spoke about how much Lauren means to him:
“She is the best. She really is a huge blessing in my life,” Thomas said. “She’s the reason for so many things good in my life. So, very, very thankful for her.“
Thomas and Lauren may have been “just friends” in the past, but now they are one of the cutest and most-talked about couples in country music.
Due to all of the buzz around the couple and their love story since “Die a Happy Man” hit it big, Thomas decided to share his top nine romance tips during a 2016 interview with iHeart Radio. They are as follows:
1. You should buy your girl some flowers.
2. Maybe roses.
3. Just don’t take her to Applebee’s.
4. Take her somewhere nice.
5. Take her somewhere Italian.
6. Get some good wine.
7. Open the door.
8. Leave a rose trail to the bedroom.
9. And then sing to her.
Of course, Thomas says one of the best songs to sing to your love is “Die A Happy Man.” You can watch the official music video for the song below.
We’d say Thomas’ tips worked out for him!
