Country music singer and proud military supporter Toby Keith gave one hell of a performance in Austin, Texas, taking his highly attended opportunity to give back to those he so openly admires. Keith picked out various members from the crowd, packing his brightly lit stage with a large number of people wielding military affiliated signs of support! Upon selecting the lucky few, Keith announces,

“We’ve got some warriors here tonight…”

Keith begins a casual conversation with a women to his left, reading her sign that showcases a photo of Keith and rocker Ted Nugent proudly posing next to this same woman many years prior during a performance in Iraq.

“Where’s my cameraman?” asks the cowboy, admitting her remembered the former event and wanted his camera team to capture the moment. Upon thanking the woman for attending the current concert, Keith adds,

“You’re a tough ass woman!”

Keith continues with, “I love my military,” before transitioning into his patriotic hit “American Soldier”. Emotions ran high as various fans on stage sang along with the country superstar, proudly displaying their homemade signs recognizing military members they have both loved and lost. Keith even approaches a young woman seated on the front of the stage and allows her the opportunity to individually sing different lines throughout the song.

The two close the song together, the woman clinging to Keith’s arm as he finishes with “To the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, and the Coast Guard, thank you from my band and from my family for your sacrifice! Thank you for out freedom. I will always love you and honor you.”

Ending his performance with a salute, it’s no surprise this man received one hell of an ovation. Watch the performance below and tell us what you think!
