Mexican Restaurant Gets A Show Of A Lifetime
It’s a common thing for a group of friends to get together, head out for dinner and drinks, and somehow end up singing karaoke. Of course, these moments are almost always filmed for the purpose of looking back and having a good laugh.
Every once in a while, a karaoke night ends up uncovering real talent, as someone with a great voice comes from out of nowhere and blows everyone away. Such was the case at one Mexican restaurant, only the person who took the stage wasn’t an unknown talent, but a major country star.
Merle Haggard‘s son, Ben, and Toby Keith had just wrapped up performing a tribute to him at the American Country Countdown Awards in 2016 when they decided to take off and grab some Mexican food.
The restaurant wasn’t crowded, but the few customers there were in for a real treat when the singers discovered that there was a karaoke machine in the house.
Bringing Up A Kenny Rogers Classic
Toby took the microphone and started to sing a song by another major country icon, “Lady” by Kenny Rogers.
Ben managed to capture part of the moment on film, and as he moved the camera around the restaurant everyone else was on their feet filming the performance as well.
The ease with which Toby sang the song was remarkable…certainly not a typical karaoke experience, for sure! Ben wrote that the moment made it a night to remember, and once you see the video below, you’ll know why.
Man, we wish we would have been in that restaurant! What a show!
