Who knew that a song about someones, ahem, “behind” could be a big country hit? But that’s exactly what happened to Trace Adkins, who scored a number two hit with such a song.
That song was “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” which was co-written by Dallas Davidson, Randy Houser, and Jamey Johnson. “Badonkadonk” was the perfect fit for Adkins, as he was easily able to channel his signature macho persona throughout the whole thing.
The song was an instant smash, and claimed the second spot on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart. It was also a crossover success, managing to reach the 30th position on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.
It’s been well over a decade since Adkins released “Badonkadonk” and crowds still go crazy every time they hear him sing it. All you have to do is attend one of Adkins’ shows to see how the energy in the room changes once “Badonkadonk” kicks off.
Adkins uploaded an official live video of himself performing “Badonkadonk” in 2015, and we are happy to share it here.
Just a warning to y’all, this performance is one smokin’ hot thing to witness. Don’t be surprised if it makes you feel weak in the knees.
So go ahead, grab a fan or open a window, and prepare to watch the steamy performance in the video below.
After all this time, Adkins has proven that he’s still got it. There’s no denying that “Badonkadonk” will always be known as one of the sexiest songs in all of country music.
