While on tour with her legendary husband, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood received quite a shock when she spotted a very unique sign being held in the audience.

Just recently on a stop in Columbus, Ohio, the country superstar took the stage for her mid-Garth set and spied something peculiar in the audience.

She saw a fan standing up holding a big sign that had only one word on it, but that one word stole her heart.

The sign said “Broken”but what did it mean?

Ever since Trisha recorded a new version of Lifehouse’s hit single of the same name for her appearance in FOX’s The Passion, fans have been pushing the envelope with the track – even having it played so much on radio that it’s charting on both the Adult Contemporary and Christian charts!

“The first city that we played after The Passion was in Canada and somebody came with a sign,” Trisha tells WinCountry. “People bring their signs of songs they want to hear, that’s kinda what they do at the Garth shows. And I saw somebody hold up a sign for ‘Broken,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!'”

But the initial time she saw it, the country star admits that it surprised both her and the band! They didn’t know the music, but she had a track to it, so she told the audience, “Lets try it!”.

Confessing that it hasn’t made its way into her permanent set list, Trisha says that she will perform it if a fan brings a sign, revealing that’s “happened almost every night”. And, of course now – the band has the music down pat.
