Troy Gentry Honors A Legend Lost With Emotional Tribute To Merle Haggard

Picking up just a guitar, he delivers an acoustic rendition of the legendary singer’s classic hit, “Chill Factor”. 

Troy Gentry, one half of the hard-rocking country duo Montgomery Gentry, has always had a deep appreciation for classic country just like his counterpart, Eddie Montgomery. Together they have constantly reminded people to be proud of their roots and always stay true to that.

Nowhere is that more clear than this beautiful tribute to the country music that inspired them! 

Singing alongside his friend who is also playing the guitar, Troy smoothly sings Merle Haggard’s 1988 chart-topping hit, “Chill Factor” with the deep conviction and emotion that’s the very basis of what country music is built on. 

The video was created just days after Merle’s tragic passing on April 6th, 2016 and is one of the most beautiful ways to remember him!
