It seems Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks love surprising each other. And we love watching them do so!
Since they have been on the Garth Brooks World Tour for going on three years now, they have celebrated a few birthdays on the road. Both of them love doing something extra special for the other.
One year on Brooks’ birthday, they were in Pittsburgh, and Yearwood brought out the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach, Mike Tomlin, who gave him his very own personalized jersey.
For one of Yearwood’s birthdays, Brooks brought out a large cake, with a tiara, and a special guest, good friend Kelly Clarkson. Heck, they don’t even need it to be someone’s birthday to surprise each other! Yearwood once stopped him mid-concert to tell Brooks that he had won an award for Touring Artist of the Year!
Since Brooks’ birthday is Tuesday (Feb. 7) and they are on a short break from touring until Feb. 17, Yearwood decided to surprise her husband in another way, and a day early. Every week, Brooks goes live on Facebook for a segment he likes to call Inside Studio G to give fans a closer relationship to him. There, they can ask questions and find out what he and Miss Yearwood have been up to.
As he dove into what he wanted to speak to his fans about, he heard a knock on the door, and asked, “Is that supposed to happen?” He looked truly perplexed and had no idea what was going on!
In walked Yearwood with a German chocolate cake, Brooks’ favorite, with candles and began singing “Happy Birthday”. Brooks was shocked! He had no clue his wife had been waiting outside of the door the entire time, which caused the candles to sink in the cake a little bit.
Brooks was very appreciative of the cake and assured his fans, and his wife that, “Everyone knows what my wish is,” as he gave his wife a sweet kiss.
