US Marine Matt Bussen Sings ‘Home’ On Airplane’s Speaker System

There’s no place like home.
We’ve learned this thanks to The Wizard of Oz, but also in real life. When you aren’t able to spend as much time with your loved ones as you would like, there is nothing like the few hours you are traveling to get there.
A Marine named Matt Bussen was definitely feeling this way when he was flying home from training in Alabama. Somehow, the flight attendants found out he could carry a tune and asked if he’d sing for the packed flight.
Because he was heading home, he couldn’t help but sing Michael Bublé’s 2005 hit song “Home,” which Blake Shelton released in 2008. That year, the two performed it together at a one-night only concert by famed songwriter-producer David Foster.
Bussen sang the ballad over the plane’s muffled speaker system, but was still able to manage to pull off an incredible performance. Knowing that these marines were heading home made the lyrics all the more meaningful.
“Another aerorplane, another sunny place, I’m lucky I know, but I want to go home. Mmmm, I’ve got to go home,” he sang, giving the entire plane of passengers chills.
