The Voice coaches are absolutely incredible.

The last week in America has been extremely difficult. Since the wee hours of Sunday morning (June 12), the nation has been in mourning since losing 49 people in the largest mass shooting in American history.

The Orlando shooting has not only hurt the families of those affected, but it has also hurt the entire country.

Just one night before and only a few miles from Pulse nightclub, where the shooting took place, another life was taken. The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was shot at her concert while signing autographs.

The Voice family was shaken up and all the coaches paid their respects via social media for Grimmie. Grimmie’s coach, Adam Levine, took it especially hard because of their closeness. He went above and beyond and paid for her funeral expenses.

Now, fellow coach Christina Aguilera is going above and beyond. She released her brand new single, “Change” on Thursday (June 16), and in a letter written on her website, announced that she is dedicating the song to the victims of the Orlando shooting.

“The horrific tragedy that occurred in Orlando continues to weigh heavily on my mind.” she writes. “I am sending so much love and so many prayers to the victims and their families. Like so many, I want to help be part of the change this world needs to make it a beautiful inclusive place where humanity can love each other freely and passionately.”

Aguilera co-wrote the song, and it is especially moving.  On it, she sings, “Waiting for a change to set us free/ Waiting for the day when you can be you and I can be me/ Waiting for hope to come around/ Waiting for the day when hate is lost and love is found.

She ended the letter on her website with an announcement saying that she, her record label, and co-writers will be “proudly donating 100% of their proceeds from each U.S. download…to the National Compassion Fund, to benefit victims and families affected” by the shooting in Orlando.
