Dating all the way back to 1964 when Glen was just 28 years old, this nearly forgotten video showcases his incredible talent as a musician even in his early days – and has him paired with one of the biggest country legends ever to hit the stage!
Appearing on an episode of the rarely-talked-about early 1960s TV show, Star Route, Glen Campbell and unforgettable country legend Roger Miller light up the crowd with a fun-filled and spirited performance of “Lou’s Got The Flu.”
Originally penned by Miller himself, this upbeat and comical tune will have you smiling from the get-go all the way through to the final seemingly-nonsensical line about “Lou” and his “flu”.
The two jam and jive through the entire fast and jovial tune, clearly having just as much fun as the swarm of audience members watching.
Star Route was a television show hosted by Rod Cameron and broadcast through nationwide syndication, but didn’t make it very far and only 13 episodes of the show are known to have been taped. The musical variety show featured performers like Campbell, Johnny Cash, Bill Anderson, Faron Young, and many more.
