Wild Animals See Themselves In A Mirror For The First Time

StoryTrender / YouTube

When a mirror was placed in front of animals in the wild, they reacted in some of the most hilarious ways.

French photographer Xavier Hubert-Brierre set up a mirror in several locations in Gabon and filmed the priceless reactions you have to see to believe!

While the elephant wasn’t particularly phased by its own reflection, others were either happy admiring themselves or were downright scared. A few animals tried to fight their reflection, while the chimpanzees seemed to have figured out that they were looking at themselves!

The most incredible reaction came from two leopards. One leopard almost attacked another until it saw the mirror and decided to halt the ambush.
