Country outlaw and timeless legend Willie Nelson had fans rolling with laughter when his interview with Rolling Stone prompted the icon to give the Attorney General of the United States a “piece” of advice.

Nelson addressed a variety of questions during his intriguing interview, although transitioning from talk of his music into a political-esque realm. The outlaw was asked how he felt in regards to Attorney General Jeff Sessions claiming that “pot is ‘only slightly less awful’ than heroin.”

“I wonder if he’s tried both of them,” Nelson responded. “I don’t think you can really make a statement like that unless you tried it all. So I’d like to suggest to Jeff to try it and then let me know later if he thinks he’s still telling the truth!” Fans were thrilled over Nelson’s sassy response, just as curious if Sessions had in fact experienced both drugs.

The country icon also touched on his previous encouragement from fans to run for President, joking, “I came close a couple times. And then I sobered up.” At least one legend is looking at the funny side of life.
