Willie Nelson Is Joined By Kid Rock For Surprise Duet Of ‘Shotgun Willie’

Fans in attendance at the 2009 Detroit Hoedown were in for a huge surprise during Willie Nelson’s set. While performing “Shotgun Willie”, a special guest appeared out of nowhere for the adoring crowd.

Being at this specific Hoedown made the moment hometown boy Kid Rock came on stage all the more awesome. While no one can be truly shocked that Kid Rock turned up in Detroit, it’s always a nice surprise to see him!

Nelson kicked off the tune and was joined by Kid Rock not long after the song began. They sang the rest together and looked like they were having so much fun! 

Kid Rock even found a little something on stage that he jokingly said he would “throw away immediately”. The audience cheered and laughed, expecting nothing less from the country legend and the Detroit-native. Y’all will have to watch the video to find out what exactly Kid Rock found. 

The crowd went nuts when Kid Rock changed the lyrics from “Shotgun Willie’s got all of his family there” to “Shotgun Willie’s got his Detroit family there“.
