Willie Nelson’s Son Lukas Teams With Global Superstar For Brand New Song

Willie Nelson certainly passed the musical bug along to his son, Lukas. Although Lukas performs with his father and often plays his songs, his musical style leans more toward the rock side of things. He currently serves as the frontman and lead guitarist of the California-based rock group Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.
POTR, as the group is referred to, got the opportunity of a lifetime when they were asked to play with Neil Young on his 2015 album The Monsanto Years. The record topped the Billboard rock albums chart and also claimed the second spot on the all-genre chart.
Neil embarked on a tour to go along with the album’s release, and POTR joined him for that as well. Now, the group is preparing for a brand new project, their upcoming LP Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.
The album is set for release on August 25, and the group has already started to preview some of the tracks. One of those songs is the groovy “Find Yourself,” which Lukas wrote.
“Find Yourself” was inspired by a real-life love of his. He previously wrote a song titled “Forget About Georgia,” which is about a girl he used to date that he couldn’t get off his mind. Lukas felt inspired to write “Find Yourself” after that, saying that it’s about “taking my power back and owning the love that I deserve.”
The song features the assistance of an unlikely duet partner…pop superstar Lady Gaga. She provides backing vocals on the track, and her gritty voice blends perfectly with the sound of Lukas’.
Lady Gaga has a stronger country connection than some realize. She enlisted the help of country songwriter Hillary Lindsey for three tracks on her 2016 album Joanne, including her single “Million Reasons.”
Lukas and Lady Gaga make a pretty good team in “Find Yourself,” which you can listen to in the sound clip below. Let us know what you think!
When you’re done, enjoy Lukas’ country side by listening to him cover one of his dad’s songs.
