Willie Robertson Says โ€˜America Is In A Bad Spotโ€™ During Republican National Convention Speech

NBC

Donning his trademark American flag bandana, Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson took the stage at the Republican National Convention.

He began his speech with a prayer for his home state of Louisiana in light of the Baton Rouge shooting.

Robertson continued with something heโ€™s said before at Trump rallies.

โ€œIโ€™ve always said that me and Mr. Trump have three things in common. Weโ€™re both successful businessmen, we both have had hit television shows, and we both have intelligent wives that are much better looking than we are.โ€

That line always gets a good laugh.

Robertson has been a vocal supporter of Trumpโ€™s since the very beginning and his father, Phil, who previously endorsed Senator Ted Cruz, is now on the โ€œTrump Trainโ€.

โ€œLet me tell you why Iโ€™ve been on the Trump train from the beginning,โ€ he said. โ€œSee, when youโ€™re from the South, and you grow up with rednecks, there are some occasional disagreements. Sometimes those disagreements turn into fisticuffs. Anytime I was ever in a bad spot, I always knew my brothers had my back. And today in a lot of ways, America is in a bad spot. And we need a President who will have our back. I can promise you this, no matter who you are, Donald Trump will have your back.โ€

Robertson gave examples of when Trump would โ€œhave your backโ€.

  • If youโ€™re looking for a job, or trying to grow a business
  • If youโ€™re a serviceman who is fighting oversees
  • A cop who is risking their lives to keep us safe at home
  • An average American who feels like youโ€™ve been forgotten by far away leaders

Robertson ended his speech with, โ€œDonald Trump will always tells you the truth as he sees it and thatโ€™s why we can trust him to Make America Great Again as our next President.โ€

What do you think about Robertsonโ€™s speech? Do you agree with him?
