Young Cancer Survivor Sends Entire Room To Its Feet With Inspirational Performance

America's Got Talent YouTube Channel

Every year, competition shows manage to uncover not just incredible talents, but incredible people. One such person is 16-year-old Calysta Bevier, who has a powerful voice, but an equally powerful story.

As Bevier stepped on stage to audition for the popular competition series America’s Got Talent, she introduced herself to the judges just like every other prospective contestant does. But then Bevier revealed a part of her past that left the entire crowd in shock.

At only 16 years old, Bevier is a survivor of stage three ovarian cancer.

Against all odds, Bevier managed to make it to the America’s Got Talent stage in order to chase her dream of winning the show. When it came time for her to sing, she chose Rachel Platten’s inspirational hit, “Fight Song”, which was the perfect choice for Bevier considering her past.

Bevier’s angelic voice had an impact on the crowd from the first note. Although her voice is soft, it was filled an immense amount of power. But it was Bevier’s ability to connect to the song that made her performance go from amazing to spectacular.

Part way through her performance, the entire crowd soared to their feet, and Bevier couldn’t help but tear up as she witnessed their reaction. By the end of the song the entire judges’ panel was on their feet as well, including the hardest judge to impress…Simon Cowell

When it came time for the judges to offer comments about Beiver’s performance, all had postive things to say, but Cowell was the one who showered her with praise.

I love everything about you,” he said. “I just had this feeling when you walked out, I can’t explain it. Just your spirit, the choice of song, your voice. I think you’re really special.”

Then, Cowell proved just how much faith he had in Beiver’s talent by reaching over to press the golden buzzer. Each judge can only press the golden buzzer once, and it automatically sends a contestant into the live shows.

Because Cowell decided to push the golden buzzer for Beiver, we have the chance to see her perform yet again! But until then, enjoy her beautiful performance of “Fight Song” in the video below.

Congratulations to Beiver on making it this far!
