What is the Katsugyo Bag?
According to the Katsugyo Bag Instagram page, this new product was mainly designed for people who catch a fish in the wild or purchase a live fish at the supermarket. This product was made to keep the fish as fresh as possible until the time of consumption.
“Bring the fish you caught and the live fish you bought at the market to your home,” Katsugyo Bag wrote. “Under development, the fish bag, a product that carries fish live.”

Some thought it was a prank.
“We initially thought the same thing about the Katsugyo Bag for carrying live fish but a little digging revealed that this is a real product currently under development where else but Japan,” Jake Adams told Reef Builders.
With it looking so cool and stylish, many commenters on Instagram were also saying they were going to buy it just so they can take their goldfish and other aquatic pets for a walk around the neighborhood.

The handheld fish tank is basically a transparent tub designed and made so that people on the outside can take a look at a live fish on the inside. One end opens up where a person can fill the container up with water and then live fish.
It has a comfortable handle for carrying and a gauge on top that measures the oxygen saturation of the water. There’s also a DC power inlet for charging it and a 1/4″ fitting for an oxygen hose.
“We’re very curious to see the final iteration of the Katsugyo Bag which is expected to be shaped a little more like a suitcase and discovering the mechanics that keep fish alive during transport,” Reef Builders wrote.
