Brittany Auditioned For American Idol

Years before she was married to a country star, Brittany Aldean (then Brittany Kerr), tried out a music career of her own. She auditioned for Season 11 of American Idol in 2012.

She auditioned for judges Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez, singing Joss Stone’s “Spoiled.”

Her good looks intrigued the male judges right away and her singing voice solidified it for them. Both Tyler and Jackson gave her a yes, while Lopez gave her a no, although she did call the then-NBA dancer “adorable.”

Brittany And Jason Released Their New Duet, “Easier Gone”

As promised, Aldean released his duet with his wife, as well as two others: “What’s A Little Heartbreak,” and “Her Favorite Color.”

“Easier Gone” was co-written by Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady A, Jimmy Robbins, and Josh Kerr.

The song tells a story about a man who sees his ex walk into a bar, and is blindsided because he still isn’t over her. He even says that everything he ever felt for her came rushing back to him the second he saw her.

In the opening line, Jason sings, “I wish I didn’t know your name/ Wish you were just another stranger / So you walkin’ in this bar wouldn’t put my broken heart / In danger.”

Brittany’s voice echoed on top of Jason’s for a few lines in the verse, but the part where she really shines is singing the high harmony in the chorus.

We can’t wait to watch them perform this one live! Listen to their duet below.
