Caroline Jones Connects With Fans During Unique Margaritaville Island Reserve Getaway
Accomplished vocalist and musician Caroline Jones is embarking on a new chapter of her music. Fans may recognize her as the only female member of the Zac Brown Band, supporting the award-winning group on guitar, keys, and backup vocals.
Additionally, Caroline has collaborated with Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Joe Bonamassa, Mac McAnally, Matthew Ramsey of Old Dominion, and more.
From August 14th to 16th, Caroline was the featured artist at Margaritaville Island Reserve Resort Riviera Maya‘s Summer of Music. The award-winning program embodies the signature Margaritaville music ethos with daily live performances, from Mexican heritage shows to acoustic sets at LandShark Brewery, offering guests the ultimate entertainment-driven getaway.
The picturesque resort is situated along the coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, with sweeping ocean views, pristine pools, and high-end dining.

The unique vacation-meets-concert experience began with an intimate acoustic album preview where Caroline shared unreleased music with a small group of guests. When asked why creating these experiences with fans was so important, Caroline told Country Rebel:
“There is a lot of support that we have garnered throughout the years of my career, so we are really trying to rally all of those friends together. To do that in person in a beautiful setting like Mexico, to be able to have multiple live performances and in-person opportunities and conversations – to me, music is about connection, and so this really allows for us to do that.”

A One-Of-A-Kind Concert Experience
Caroline Jones is one of the few artists ever invited to open for Jimmy Buffett on tour. The New York native says she “owes so much” to the late musician. She performed her first-ever football stadiums alongside Jimmy while on tour with the Eagles.
“It’s just so rare that someone has that much business acumen and that much zest for life, and joy, and creativity. I just feel very, very lucky to have been in his orbit, and to carry on his legacy of integrity and creativity in any small way that I can.”

Additionally, Jimmy wrote a song for Caroline titled “Gulf Coast Girl,” which featured himself, Kenny Chesney, Mac McAnally, and Lukas Nelson. She reflects:
“Beyond all of it, [Jimmy Buffett] was such an inspiring person. He was such a brilliant business mastermind, but it never compromised his integrity. He was really able to stay authentic with all of this merchandise and all of these franchises and businesses and hotels – we are still here at Margaritaville, which is a massive international brand. Jimmy just was who he was. He was that barefoot, beach guy.”
It was a special moment when Caroline took the stage for a full-band show at Margaritaville Island Reserve Resort Riviera Maya, a place that embodies so much of Jimmy Buffett’s spirit. With the stage situated along the pool’s edge, guests were able to take in the live performance directly from the water.

The Balance Of Music And Motherhood
Caroline Jones became a mother while on tour with the Zac Brown Band. She welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Nick Dana, in 2023. Looking back on the experience of being on the road with the formerly all-male band during that time, Caroline recalls:
“They couldn’t be more supportive or kind to me. When I was nine months pregnant on tour, they were so protective of me, they were so sweet to me. So I guess that’s what would surprise people, is actually how much of a family it is, and how relaxed it is.”
Even before welcoming her son, Caroline acknowledged her unique position as an accomplished female touring musician and the opportunity she has to inspire young women with the same aspirations. Personally, she looks to other women in music who have families, yet still make music and tour as her heroes.
“Probably my biggest hero and mentor, and now she’s my good friend, is Jewel. She was my hero since I was 16, and now I get to pick her brain about all things: Moming, and touring, and making records, and being an entrepreneur. So she’s one of my biggest heroes.”
As she strives to find the balance between music and motherhood, Caroline admits:
“Sometimes it is really hard being a woman, and sometimes you do get kind of demeaned or passed off… But also, sometimes people are super supportive of you and go out of their way to help you, and that also needs to be celebrated when it happens.”

The Next Chapter Of Caroline Jones
Caroline’s next album will be released in two parts, with the first planned for later this year. She says that it is the “most raw” music she has ever made in terms of lyrical honesty. She shares:
“Becoming a mom just blew open the doors of my heart, and now I want to talk about things that maybe people don’t always talk about. And I want to give them a voice, and really touch people and relate to them.”
Additionally, the “Chasin’ Me” singer says she is most excited to get back on tour and perform her original music with her band early next year.
“We just feel really strongly about this music and this chapter, and so we want to make it special for people. I am so glad that Margaritaville put this together for us.“
