on Nov 03, 2021
Now that Halloween is over, preparations are underway for Thanksgiving. Each year, people look forward to the holiday so they can enjoy delicious food and spend time with loved ones.
Many folks start their Thanksgiving by tuning in to the broadcast of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The annual parade in New York City features balloons, floats, marching bands, and musical performances from celebrity guests.
On November 2, news broke about what people can expect to see during this year’s parade. As uDiscoverMusic reports, there will be 15 character balloons, 28 floats, 36 inflatables, and ten marching bands in the parade.
The names of the parade’s musical guests were also announced. Country music will be well-represented, as Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen, and Chris Lane were all given spots in the parade.
Another country artist involved in the parade is Carrie Underwood. According to People, Underwood, “will kick off the Christmas season with a selection from her holiday album My Gift (Special Edition).”

This will not be Underwood’s first time performing during the parade. She got the chance to sing her song “Some Hearts” during the parade in 2005, which was the same year she won American Idol.

This year’s parade will air on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, from 9 AM-12 PM. The parade will be broadcast on NBC and Telemundo and will also be available for streaming on Peacock.
We can’t wait to watch Underwood and the other country music artists who will be participating in the parade this year!
