Chris and Morgane Stapleton: A Country Love Story

It can be tough to find examples of true-blue romance in today’s fast-paced world, but Chris and Morgane Stapleton are an example of a love story that’s stood the test of time.

While he’s an international superstar now, Chris Stapleton wasn’t always well-known. He got his start as a songwriter at Sea Gayle Music, a Nashville-based publishing house. Morgane worked at a different Nashville publishing house, and would often wait around to catch a glimpse of Chris at the office, as one of her friends had a working relationship with him.

Eventually, the two connected and Chris asked Morgane to write music with him. The first night they wrote together, Morgane happily recalls that the two “didn’t get much writing done that night.”

The two married in 2007 and have enjoyed much musical success over the years, even blurring the lines between country and mainstream pop with their 2015 collaboration with Justin Timberlake on the song “Tennessee Whiskey.”

Morgane’s voice has become one of the most recognizable in country music, and many would love to hear a solo album from the songstress. For now, however, she’s happy working with her husband and performing together at his concerts. Time will tell whether she decides that it’s time to step out on her own and wow audiences with her powerful solo pipes.

Chris and Morgane have welcomed five children, including twins in 2018 and a baby boy in 2019.  Their life together is truly one filled with love.
