What is the Song of the Year?

According to the Country Music Association, the Song of the Year “recognizes artistic achievement in songwriting: and is awarded to the songwriter. Original country songs are eligible for the honor with song activity during the eligibility period taken into account.

Unlike many of the other categories, songs are only eligible to be listed as final nominees once.

Who won Song of the Year in 2025?

The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry and actress Grace Van Patten had the honor of presenting the 2025 Song of the Year trophy to Ella Langley and Riley Green for “You Look Like You Love Me.”

Ella and Riley accepted the trophy together, with Ella starting her speech by expressing her surprise that Zach Top didn’t win the category.
