Cody Johnson and Wife Brandi Welcomed Their Third Child
In May, country singer Cody Johnson and his wife of 17 years, Brandi, revealed they were expecting their third child while walking the red carpet for the ACM Awards.
In a red carpet interview, Johnson told a publication, “We’re having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well.”
The couple revealed that they would be welcoming their first son together. They are already parents to daughters Clara (10) and Cori (8).
Johnson co-hosted Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton the weekend of November 15-16, where he revealed that Brandi had their son on October 21st.
“I finally got my boy. He & mom are here at the house, and they’re healthy & happy. It was a wonderful experience,” Cody said. “We hadn’t announced it, but there’s no way that if Lon asked about it, I’m not gonna not talk about it. But we haven’t announced it.”
The singer revealed his son’s name is Jaycee Daniel Johnson.
Cody Explained The Meaning Behind Jaycee’s Name
While doing press for the CMA Awards on Tuesday (Nov. 18), Johnson revealed how he and Brandi chose Jaycee for their son’s name.
“So my ranch brand on all my cows and horses, it’s J Bar C brand. And so when people mispronounce it, they say JC. So I thought, you know what, Kaycee, WY. [It’s] J-A-Y-C-E-E and we decided boy or girl was going to be Jaycee.”
Johnson reiterated how excited he was to have a son, and how great his daughters are with him. He said that sometimes, he has to pry Jaycee out of the arms of his big sisters!
The Johnsons are pretty private people and haven’t even shared a photo of Jaycee yet! Hopefully one day we will get a glimpse of the sweet baby.
