Cody Johnson Stopped His Show To Help A Young Woman Who Needed Medical Attention In The Audience

Cody Johnson is earning a lot of praise for stopping one of his recent shows to help a fan in distress.

Johnson is currently on his Leather Tour. The trek kicked off on January 19 in Sacramento, California. The tour runs throughout the spring and summer, and concludes on August 17 in Englewood, Colorado.

The tour supports Johnson’s latest album, Leather, which he released on November 3. The album contains the romantic lead single “The Painter.” Its official music video stars Johnson and his wife, Brandi.

During one of his recent Leather Tour shows, Johnson brought things to a halt when he noticed an audience member in need of medical attention.

A TikTok user uploaded a video showcasing the moment when Johnson stopped his show. He spoke into the mic to call for help for the young woman in the crowd.

“Can we get some medical attention down here on the front row please?” he asked

Johnson went on to reference the Astroworld tragedy, which occurred in 2021. Rapper Travis Scott was performing in Houston when 10 audience members were killed and thousands were injured in a crowd crush.

Scott received criticism for not doing more to help his fans in Houston. He later claimed he couldn’t hear any cries for help and also claimed he did stop the show several times.

Johnson, well-aware of the Astroworld tragedy, made sure the same thing didn’t occur at his own show. “This is not a Travis Scott concert. We will stop to help people out…” he said.

Johnson spoke to the rest of his fans, and encouraged everyone to “sit tight” while they got the young woman some help.

“As soon as we figure this out we’ll continue with the show. But I’m gonna tell you right now, this is about you. This ain’t about me. So we’re going to stop and take care of this young lady before we do anything,” he said.
