Colter Wall Releases Vulnerable Statement Addressing His Mental Health
Popular country artist Colter Wall is putting everything on hold to focus on his mental health.
On Wednesday (March 11), Wall released a vulnerable statement on social media. He said he’s been feeling “mentally unwell,” and has pushed himself too hard to keep touring. Because of this, his mental health has deteriorated even further.
Wall has been on tour since the start of 2026, and had four more shows on the books in March. According to Wall’s website, he was set to sing in Indianapolis on March 11 and 12 before traveling to Cincinnati on March 13 and Detroit on March 14.
However, those shows have since been canceled to give Wall the chance to take care of himself. Those with tickets to the now-canceled concerts will receive automatic refunds through their point of purchase.
Furthermore, Wall announced he is taking “an indefinite hiatus from live music.” He did not give any indication of when he plans to return.
See Wall’s announcement below.
Who Is Colter Wall?
Country artist Colter Wall was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, on June 27, 1995. He started making song demos while he was a student at the University of Saskatchewan.
His debut EP, Imaginary Appalachia, was released in 2015, and it has since been certified Gold by the RIAA. His debut studio album, which was self-titled, followed in 2017.
Wall has created four more albums since then, with his most recent release being 2025’s Memories and Empties.
Some of his most recognizable songs include “The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie,” “Sleeping on the Blacktop,” and “Cowpoke,” all of which have been certified Gold or Platinum by the RIAA. Three of his songs were featured in Season 4 of Yellowstone.
Wall is wildly popular on social media, with over 860,000 followers on Instagram and more than 578,000 followers on TikTok. After generating such a strong fan base in such a short amount of time, it’s easy to see why Wall is in need of a break.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Wall during his time away from the spotlight.
