Country Singer Conner Smith Involved In Fatal Pedestrian Accident
On June 8th, 2025, rising country star Conner Smith was driving a Chevrolet Silverado north on 3rd Avenue North in Nashville when he struck a 77-year-old pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The woman, later identified as Dorothy “Dot” Dobbins, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and died of her injuries.

Conner Smith Charged With Misdemeanor
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department later revealed more details about the incident in a statement:
“The preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian. He showed no signs of impairment.“
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department issued a misdemeanor state citation to Smith. A statement on the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County website listed Smith’s charge as “Failure to Yield the Right of Way Resulting in Death,” a Class A misdemeanor. Smith appeared for booking on the citation on August 7th, 2025.
One month after the accident, Smith broke his silence in a statement released on social media. In it, he expressed heartbreak over Dobbins’ death and asked his followers to keep her family in their prayers.
Less than one year after the accident, on February 19, 2026, TMZ reported that the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office has dropped the misdemeanor citation at the request of the victim’s family.
Robinson issued a statement that reads:
“This devastating accident was a profound tragedy for the family of Dot Dobbins and the larger Germantown community. Over the past several months, Conner has been grateful for the opportunity to get to know Dot’s family personally and be able to voice his deep and sincere grief. While he is grateful that this legal chapter has concluded, he will continue to steadfastly lift her family up in prayer.”

Conner Smith Shares Powerful Testimony About God’s “Faithfulness And Love” Following The Accident
Now, over a year later, the country singer is sharing a powerful testimony amidst the terrible tragedy.
“A year ago today was the hardest day of my life. I was driving home from The Listening Room Cafe on Sunday evening after CMA Fest. My buddy had asked me to hop up with him at The Listening Room, and I was driving home that night when tragedy came,” Smith shared. “I’ve talked about it over the last year enough and there’s not much more to add, other than God is so much better that I could have ever imagined. He is sovereign and real and true and an incredible healer.”
Smith has said the only peace he has truly found since the tragedy comes through his walk of healing in faith, adding that he has felt the presence of Jesus and God in “unfathomable ways.” The country star believes he has received kindness and forgiveness both from people and from the Lord.
“About six weeks ago, my buddy texted me and asked if I would hop up for his song at The Listening Room. I haven’t been back since that night in June. I told him, ‘Yeah, of course.’ I didn’t really think about it much, to be honest… so one year later to the day was the date that he asked me to hop up in The Listening Room,” Smith explains.
Smith did end up returning to The Listening Room on the one-year anniversary of the tragedy and later said in a video that he felt at peace doing so because he now dedicates everything in his career to God’s glory. He also went on his mom’s podcast,
Got It From My Momma Podcast, to share more about that.
“All the things that I believed about God, I experienced about God. What I thought to be true, I now know to be true. There’s so much I will never understand, but what I am certain of beyond a shadow of a doubt is His goodness, His faithfulness, His provision and His love for me.”
