Jelly Roll Started Sobbing After Craig Morgan Surprised Him With An Invitation To Join The Grand Ole Opry

On December 10, news broke that Jelly Roll received an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry. He was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast when he received the invite that almost every country artist dreams about.

Joe surprised Jelly Roll by playing him a pre-recorded message from Opry member Craig Morgan. The two singers shared the stage at the Opry a few years ago and sang Craig’s “Almost Home.”

“I’ll never forget meeting you at the Grand Ole Opry and how much it meant to me to hear you say my music helped you get through some really tough times,” Craig said. “That’s one thing country music does really well. And who would’ve ever dreamed back then that I’d be back at the Opry House today to say, Jelly Roll, you’re officially invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. It’s an honor to say welcome to the family, brother.”

Jelly Roll tossed off his headphones, put his head in his hands, and began sobbing. He asked Joe for a hug as he said, “It don’t get no bigger in country music, bubba. That’s as big as it gets.”

Later, Jelly Roll shared the clip of his reaction on social media. He detailed how much the Opry invitation means to him, writing:

“They invited me to be a member of the Opry. CRAIG MORGAN INVITED ME TO BE A MEMBER OF THE OPRY!!!! I’m honored beyond words and I can’t stop pinching myself. To everyone at the Opry, y’all are like family to me. To Craig Morgan, no matter how many times I say it i’ll never be able to tell you enough how much this has all meant to me. I love you Joe Rogan.”
