The duo is made up of married couple Shawna and Keifer Thompson, who met at a singing competition, were signed to Stoney Creek Records, a division of Broken Bow Records, in January 2010. They released their debut single “Let’s Fight” later that year.

In July 2010, they released their second single, and biggest hit, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,” which was co-written by David lee Murphy and Jim Collins.

They released their debut, self-titled album on February 8, 2011 and in 2012 they won Top Vocal Duo at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Since then, they have released two more albums and a total of 12 singles.

They are not only open with their fans about their music, but also their personal lives, where they are parents to 6-year-old son, Cooper.

On Monday (Jan. 31), the duo took to Instagram to share another piece of their lives with fans, and also ask for prayers. Kiefer’s uncle, Marlin, and his cousin were hit by a car.

“Hey y’all I’m asking for prayers for my uncle (the man to the right of my dad) and my cousin Kevin who were just hit by someone who ran through an intersection in Dallas,” they wrote. “His name is Marlin and he’s one of the best men I’ve ever known. And the coolest 89 year old you’ll ever meet. Please pray that they will recover from his injuries and get back home soon. Thank you in advance.”

It’s unknown whether Kiefer’s uncle and cousin were pedestrians or in their own vehicle. See the post below.
