Country Rebel

February 4, 2022, Country Rebel launched Country Rebel Records. In addition to the new label, they announced the signing of its first artist, Justin Holmes. Holmes is currently a viral internet sensation with his original song, “Damn Addiction.”

Born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky, Holmes got his first guitar at the age of 15, shortly before his father passed away. That guitar quickly became an outlet for him to express himself and feel a sense of release while dealing with his father’s death. He grew up listening to a wide variety of music, and songwriting seemed to come naturally to him. With his passion for singing and growing skills with songwriting, he dreamt of being able to perform on stage one day.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces member at age 18 and spent most of his 14 years of service as a weapons instructor. Even though the Air Force seemed like a different direction, that dream of music never left him. He took his guitar with him everywhere he went and often played for his fellow service members.

Justin Holmes / Facebook

Holmes was discovered by Country Rebel after posting a cover video on Facebook back in 2017. Country Rebel shared the video to its network of over 18 million Facebook fans. The video quickly went viral and Justin became a fan favorite for many.

In 2019, Holmes was invited to participate in ‘The George Jones Sessions’ in which Country Rebel was hosting over 30 artists to film and record acoustic sessions to share and promote on its platform. It was here where Holmes performed his original song, “Damn Addiction.”

Holmes sings about a love for a woman that’s incredibly strong and compares it to substance addiction in a creative and powerful way.

Since its recording and publishing to the Country Rebel YouTube channel in 2019, “Damn Addiction” was discovered by users on SoundCloud and TikTok, where it has gone viral. The song has now been used in over 9,000 videos (and counting) on TikTok and garnered over 220,000 streams on SoundCloud in a month’s time. The video of Holmes performing the song is now approaching 2.3 million views on YouTube with one million of those views having amassed in the past month alone.
